Destination Yellowstone Airport Kiosk
The Yellowstone Park Foundation (YPF) works in cooperation with the National Park Service to fund projects and programs that protect, preserve, and enhance the natural and cultural resources and the visitor experience of Yellowstone National Park. YPF receives no annual government funding; it relies instead upon the generous support of private citizens, foundations, and corporations to ensure that Yellowstone’s great gifts to the world will never diminish. Since its inception in 1996, the Yellowstone Park Foundation has successfully funded more than 200 conservation, research, and education projects in Yellowstone.
As part of a new exhibit, Destination Yellowstone, Savant Ltd was commissioned to develop an interactive kiosk that highlighted the organization’s mission and accomplishments. The following highlight those accomplishments:
Old Faithful Virtual Visitor Center
The Yellowstone Park Foundation completed a successful $15-million capital campaign to fund the state-of-the-art Old Faithful Visitor Educational Center, which opened in August 2010. The virtual center gives you a head start by exploring the exhibits using interactive media. The following content are videos you can play directly from this screen:
- “Why Geysers Erupt”
- “Hot Water Treasures”
- “Hot Spring Ecology”
YPF Celebrates 15 Years
In November 2011, Yellowstone Park Foundation marked its 15th year as Yellowstone’s official fundraising partner. To commemorate the anniversary and highlight past achievements, YPF created an interactive timeline of the past 15 years.
The interactive timeline supports a gesture UI, so you interact with the screen using your finger.
