Think of digital signage as a form of out-of-home advertising in which video content, advertisements and messages are displayed on digital signs with a common goal of delivering targeted messages to specific locations at specific times. The market sees digital signage as more beneficial compared to static signage because content that updates frequently can be digitally updated, saving the cost of printing. The entire concept of digital signage revolves around delivering a message more effectively than a traditional static sign.

  • Drag and Drop Interface – Maintenance of content is easy. You simply drag and drop the content to the region of the sign where you want it to appear. With our solution, training is a matter of a few hours so you are productive right away.
  • Full Preview Capability – A feature of the solution is a single click preview, including at actual size, of any sign. This lets you ensure the appearance of the sign is perfect BEFORE you present it.
  • Automatic Content Sizing – Content is automatically scaled to fit the size of region where it is playing. The video link below shows one flash content item being scheduled in two regions of varying sizes.
  • Support for all standard content types – Unlike solutions which limit you to PowerPoint or require you to reformat your content, the Savant approach is: “If you can view it on your computer you can present it on your sign.”
  • Live TV Feeds – Present live or closed-circuit TV directly on any region of your sign. Provide rich content at little or no cost to catch the eye, maintain interest and reduce perceived wait-time in queuing situations.
  • Supports PowerPoint in native formats – All files, including PowerPoint, are supported in their native format – no conversion or loss of functionality is involved. This saves time, storage, and presentscontent exactly as created. Transitions, animations, embedded content, and other presentation features look just as great and function exactly the same on your sign as they do on your desktop.
  • Incorporate information from external systems – The powerful Live Data (Dynamic Data) function in the solution makes it easy to present information directly from 3rd party systems. With this approach, signs are always up-to-date without requiring time-consuming and error-prone duplicate data re-entry.
  • Content Updated Automatically – Signs poll the source content file at a frequency determined by the user to determine when to update the content on the sign. When a new source content file is created or revised, the system looks at that source file to play the revised content. This applies to all types of source content, such as PowerPoints, Flash Files, Word Documents, Excel Documents, and Data Sources.
  • Content Categorization & Search – Content can be organized into user defined categories. This content can then be searched with an intuitive interface.  Additionally, the content can be sorted by name, description and many other properties.
  • User-friendly Template Editor – The layout of each sign is defined by an easy-to-create template which contains one or more regions where content appears. Creation is performed in a visual layout using simple click and drag functions.
  • Built-in Weather - Let the audience of your signage know what to expect when they walk out the door with free web-supplied weather.  Enter the desired zip code, select Fahrenheit or Celsius – then drag the weather to the desired area of the screen. Present today, tomorrow, and the next day showing temperature, ranges, descriptions and a simple graphic indicator of the forecast. All free and simple to implement or modify.
  • User and Group Security – Built-in security lets you control who can manage what signs, templates, regions on a sign, and specific content. Define users and roles or groups to simplify security management. Save time, money, and potential unauthorized access by integrating directly to Active Directory/LDAP from your current network. Ensure that corporate content is secured while local content is managed at the property level.
  • Graphic Transparency Support – Sign regions and backgrounds can be made transparent for beautiful looking signs. For example, show your (or your guest’s) logo or graphics in the background with partially transparent regions presenting event lists, maps, and other information on top.
  • Full Interactivity – Our last name is Interactive. Add great power to your guests’ experience by giving them the control to locate the information they need.
  • Play Triggers (Programming & Scheduling) – For rich content presentation, you can display multiple windows of related content on a single screen based on triggering an event based upon another.  For example, if information for a particular restaurant is presented, either by loop or by user-selection you can show the menu as well as a map of how to get there.
  • Multi-sign Playlists (Playlist) – Save design time and simplify deployment of multiple signs by creating content Playlists.  Then assign a playlist to multiple signs. Individual signs can then include “variables” to define specific content. An example would be to have a variable named Location which would select the specific meeting room information while maintaining the same arrangement and property-general content.
  • Emergency Messaging/Channels – Similar to a playlist is a channel. Here, various signs can subscribe to one or more channels.  A simple manual or electronic trigger can start “broadcasting” the channel(s).
  • Flexible Content Scheduling (Programming & Scheduling) – Provide freshness and relevance to sign content by defining what content runs and when using recurrence – exactly as you already do in Outlook – no need to learn a new way.  Schedule based on dates, times and day of week.
  • Powerful Wayfinding – A true differentiator of both our system and your property is flexible but easy wayfinding. Guide your signage audience to their room, meeting and local amenities – without posting temporary signs or having to position staff to show the way.   • Ad Tracking and Reporting (Dwell Time / Traffic) – Create and track presentation campaigns for advertising of internal or external companies and attractions. Designed into the Savant solution is a campaign management system which allows you to define, price, and invoice advertising campaigns.
  • Integrations for Action Script in Flash – Interactivity is built into the application to be part of your sign. Alternatively, if you are using Flash which has interactive Action Scripts we have developed an interface so the Flash can communicate with other features of your sign.
  • Support for Web Services – Web access can be provided directly on screen and, with touch screen full website navigation. This makes it easy to bring related content directly to the viewer for such things as future bookings, event details, etc.
  • Multiple Deployment Options (Store and Forward included) – Deployment is the process of sending layout, schedule, and content metadata from the Content Manager (Content Authoring Application) to specific Content Players/signs (Players/Screens).
  • Support for External Inputs – where interaction with the sign content is desired which extends beyond simple touch screen Savant provides many options to meet virtually any need.
  • Microsoft SQL Server backend – When multiple instances of the Content Manager share a set of signs, a Microsoft SQL Server database is used to manage object check-in/out. This industry standard database ensures that conflicts over joint modification of assets do not occur.
  • Flexibility of signage size and orientation – From 7” table-top casino signs to multi-screen video walls one software application supports them all. This includes the ability to orient signs in portrait or landscape mode as well as standard 4:3 formats and letterbox 16:9 ratios. You are free to choose what you need based on your needs – not your software’s restrictions.
  • Central Management – All signs within network access can be centrally managed. The Content Manager (Content Authoring Application) application is implemented as a secured, multi-user application.
  • Network Monitoring – Content Player (Player) can be configured to take screen shot of what it is playing on a predetermined interval.
  • Multiple-Language Support – Multiple-Language Support is an optional feature which can be integrated into all interactive signs. Press a language button on an interactive sign and a wide variety of languages can be instantly activated. This activation can happen on all signs or just the signs that you select.
